Sequel Dance Complex - Scott W.

Scott Wilkinson is excited to teach acro/tumbling at Sequel Dance Complex.  As a North Carolina native, he proudly cheered for the nationally ranked North Carolina State University cheer squad.  He and his partner placed in the top 10 at the UCA National Partner Stunt Championships.  While completing his Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, Scott was captain of the nationally ranked University of Tennessee cheer squad.  During his summers in college, Scott taught cheerleading camps for Universal Cheerleaders Association and was selected to become a member of the college cheerleading camp teaching staff.  He was hand selected to perform with a group in Los Angeles at the Annual Jerry Lewis telethon which aired live on TV. Additionally, his experience afforded him the opportunity to teach cheerleaders all across the beautiful country of Costa Rica.

After moving to Memphis, he was hired to develop a cheer gym at Dulin’s Sports Academy.  In just three years the gym enrollment grew so quickly requiring them to enlarge and expand the facility. This allowed them to accommodate teaching tumbling to area school cheerleaders and even cheerleaders from other cheer gyms.

During this time Scott was hired as the cheerleading coach of the brand new Cordova High School.  In their first year they won the UCA National Cheerleading Championship Freshman Division and again two years later.

During his 30 years of teaching, Scott has coached tumbling for multiple national championship teams including Mt. Pisgah Middle School and Arlington High School.  Several of his students have gone on to cheer for nationally ranked college squads.  Scott has always enjoyed teaching and loves seeing the look of excitement on a students face when they learn and master a new skill or trick.
